How do you manage to memorize without understanding? What do you do, just read repeatedly?

Actually I can’t memorize without understanding but I noticed that a lot of people do it very easily.
I asked a friend how he does it he said that he just needed to read it repeatedly (as you said). He was used to studying like this from an early age, so for him it was natural.

However I don’t think it’s an effective way to learn because as I said earlier I believe it’s useful only for short term memory (I use it just for memorizing numbers, repeat them until I can visualize them in my head).
I guess people who don’t understand what they read end up forgetting the information just after the exam.

I will defiantly have to try walking and studying, I always tend to walk around and talk on the phone =D might be a sign.

Tell me if it works for you. :) (I couldn’t do it)
