Wow. That certainly is a huge flow of future doctors to put in the hands of one teaching hospital. Surely the administration of this new school must take into account that a student base already exists in that area and sending upwards of hundreds of students to do their clinical hours and hands on learning at the only teaching hospital in the area will only be a detriment and a deprivation of much needed resources to the students that they are trying to teach. In a hospital that only has 1,000 or so beds, how can they expect to train all of these students in an effective manner? It seems like they should maybe be building another hospital rather than another medical school.

I definitely agree. I expect some students will get lost in the crowd and lose out on valuable lessons. I just hope that the cost isn’t anything to do with patient casualties that could have been avoided. Building another hospital seems like the logical thing to do.
