    Well, this is both good and bad.
    Good in the sense, surgeons are learning new strategies that seem to work and may be better than traditional methods.
    Not so good because the techniques have not been tested before and they might not work as well every time.
    The concern over the sources is justified.

    A suggestion could be to have all the tried new techniques reported to AAFPRS (or a similar authority), have them tested,
    and if they are good, introduce them into the training or residency programs for plastic surgery.
