The International Medical Admissions Test or IMAT is an exam for enrolling into select medical schools or faculties of medicine mainly in Italy. Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing is working in tandem with Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUIR) on administering this exam. The IMAT is a subject-specific test in English for students want to enroll in medicine and surgery and dentistry courses. These courses are taught in English, with placements available to international students.
How much is the IMAT exam?
As of 2016, The registration fee is €120 (£105 or $164). However, the fees for 2020 have not been published yet.
Which medical schools or faculties of medicine accept the IMAT exam?
There are a number of Italian medical schools that are accepting the IMAT exam. However because requirements may change each academic year, it is best to go directly to the medical school’s website to see their enrollment and admission exam requirements.
When are the future test dates for the IMAT Exam?
There is not any new information on the testing dates for 2020 on the Admissions Testing website, however on the MUIR website it states that September 10th, 2020 is the next test date for Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis in English (IMAT).
How long is the IMAT exam?
The IMAT exam is roughly 100 minutes long. 60 multiple choice questions (10 logical reasoning, 12 culture and general knowledge, 18 biology, 12 chemistry, 8 physics and math) with 5 multiple choice options.
